These terms govern your use of NostalgiApp, a macOS application developed by Multimodal Solutions. By downloading, installing, or using NostalgiApp, you agree to these terms.
1. License
NostalgiApp is licensed, not sold. On purchase of a license, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use NostalgiApp on the number of Macs specified by your license tier:
- Personal — 1 Mac, lifetime license.
- Family — up to 5 Macs, lifetime license.
You may not distribute, sublicense, reverse-engineer, or commercially exploit the software. You may move your license between your own Macs by deactivating on the old one first.
2. Free trial
A 14-day free trial is available without purchase. At the end of the trial, a license is required to continue launching games. Your library data, preferences, and save states remain on your Mac regardless of license state.
3. Refunds
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee from the date of purchase. If NostalgiApp doesn't work for you within that window, email [email protected] and we'll refund in full. No hoops.
4. Third-party content and emulators
NostalgiApp is a launcher. It does not include games, ROMs, BIOS files, or the eXo collections. You are responsible for lawfully acquiring any game content you play through NostalgiApp.
NostalgiApp bundles several open-source emulators (DOSBox Staging, DOSBox-X, ScummVM, MAME, 86Box, Sparkle) under their respective licenses. Full license texts are available in the About panel inside the app. DREAMM is bundled under a separate explicit permission from its author, Aaron Giles.
NostalgiApp is not affiliated with the eXo project, the LaunchBox / BigBox developers, or any emulator team. Trademarks and game names belong to their respective owners.
5. Updates
NostalgiApp includes automatic update functionality via the Sparkle framework. Updates are signed with our EdDSA key and verified before installation. You may disable automatic updates in Settings, but we strongly recommend leaving them on for security fixes.
6. Warranty disclaimer
NostalgiApp is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind. We do our best to ship a stable, reliable product, but we cannot guarantee that the software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with every configuration. Back up your game saves.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Multimodal Solutions shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of NostalgiApp. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for your license.
8. Termination
These terms remain in effect until terminated. You may terminate by uninstalling NostalgiApp and discontinuing use. We may terminate a license if you materially breach these terms (e.g. distribute pirated copies); on termination, you must uninstall the software.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Greece. Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of Athens, Greece.
10. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted in the app's changelog and the "Last updated" date on this page.
